Kuretake clean color dot test: happy planner

I had this excellent question from an Instagram friend asking if the Kuretake Zig Clean Color Dot markers show through the paper. I am using the Happy Planner Happy Notes paper in this sped-up video to demonstrate the colors and the back of the paper.

I have been using these markers since 2021, and in this test, I tried 12 different colors ranging from pastel to dark colors. From left to right, I am varying my pressure from light to hard. While this isn’t a scientific test by any means, I tried to get close to the same pressure for each color.

On the darker colors, I did try to press a little harder at the end because those colors would likely be the ones to bleed through over the pastel ones. Generally, when I use these on a normal basis, I am pretty light-handed and haven’t experienced any bleed-through.

I was curious with harder pressure if they would show through. Luckily, I didn’t notice any bleed-through at all for any of the colors. Sure, if the hold the paper up to the light, you can see the dots on the other side but you have to really be looking for it. If your paper is laying down flat, you won’t see them!

Stay tuned for my test using the Tomoe River paper in the Hobonichi Cousin next!
